About Us
Who Are We?
We are proud members of the Hmong Baptist National Association (HBNA), and our beliefs align with those of the Hmong Southern Baptist community. This refers to Hmong churches, congregations, and ministries that are part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), one of the largest Protestant denominations in the United States. These churches are dedicated to serving the Hmong community while upholding the beliefs, practices, and organizational principles of the Southern Baptist faith.

History Of Hmong Hope
  • Establishment and Early Years
Hmong Hope Community Church was founded in June 2004 with 20 dedicated families. Our ministry began at First Free Evangelical Church in Maplewood, MN. On April 7, 2006, we officially incorporated as a church in the State of Minnesota. Later that year, we established a Building Fund Team with the goal of acquiring a building or land for a permanent church home. Although our timeline did not go as planned, our congregation grew to 35 families by 2010, a testament to God’s blessings and provision.
  • Transition and Challenges (2011-2015)
In early 2012, First Free informed us they would not be renewing our lease. This prompted us to search for a new location. After exploring several options, we found space at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Saint Paul, MN. In October 2015, a member of the church discovered a property in Spring Lake Park, MN. After a series of visits and discussions with the congregation, we unanimously decided to pursue the purchase. On March 16, 2016, we officially closed on the church.
  • A Place to Call Home
On April 17, 2016, we held our first Sunday service at our new location, marking a significant milestone in our journey. This church was purchased with the vision of providing a permanent home for our congregation, particularly for the older members who had longed for stability.
  • Gratitude
We thank God above all for His provision and guidance throughout this journey. We are also deeply grateful to all those who supported and encouraged this effort, working tirelessly to ensure its success. This journey has been one of faith, perseverance, and God’s abundant grace. Today, Hmong Hope Community Church stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together in trust and dedication to His plan.
